Jennifer K. Donovan is the co-founder and visionary for Equestrian Services, LLC and Equestrian Management, LLC. Born into a family of equestrians, she has been riding and caring for horses for more than 36 years. Growing up in Maryland, Jennifer was an avid pony clubber and hunter/jumper competitor. Today she is a competitive dressage rider.
Jennifer was determined to set a professional standard for quality equestrian facility design, training, instruction, and operations. In 1999, she and her husband Michael Donovan co-founded Equestrian Services, LLC.
Equestrian Services, LLC provides turn-key equestrian amenities for communities and resorts nationwide. Services range from feasibility studies, geo demographic analysis, proforma budgeting, capital expenditure projections, programming, planning, design, and marketing all the way through equestrian facility operations management. The firm is vertically integrated dedicated to the long term success of their projects. The integrated service model has been the key to growing successful partnerships with their clients and affiliates.
The organization focuses on the safety and efficiency of equestrian care while creating a horse profession built on effective business practices, customer service, and quality management, training and instruction.
With more than 20 years experience in project coordination and as the co-founder of Equestrian Services, Jennifer is responsible for a variety of services including the review of bidding documents, on-site supervision at the equestrian facilities, assessment of phase completion, organization and coordination of the subcontractors as well as quality control of material and installation. She also is responsible for environmental considerations and equestrian design including the construction of barns, indoor and outdoor riding arenas, sheds and fencing.
Jennifer has an array of equestrian memberships and affiliations including Lead Partner & Committee Member of the Equestrian Conservation Land Resource, Board Member of the Chesapeake Dressage Institute, and Member of the United States Equestrian Team, United States Dressage Federation and USA Equestrian.
In addition to overseeing Equestrian Services and Equestrian Management activities, Jennifer trains horses and continues to compete in dressage. She earned her United States Dressage Foundation (USDF) Bronze Medal, and she has nearly earned her Silver Medal on Renard, her Dutch Warmblood horse imported from Holland.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Maryland.
