Equestrian Services, LLC Announce Successful Completion of Multi-Million Dollar Renovation of Bergen Equestrian Center

(Charlottesville, VA, July 2, 2010) - Equestrian Services, LLC, the company setting the standards for the planning, design, and management of equestrian facilities worldwide, and Equestrian Professionals, Inc. (management affiliate) successfully completed a multi-million dollar renovation of Bergen Equestrian Center in Leonia, New Jersey.

Equestrian Services, LLC worked with RSC Architects, a local New Jersey firm, to plan and design the facility-wide renovation. The Bergen Equestrian Center was built in the 1970s and added onto over the years as the program expanded. In need of structural reinforcement and a significant facelift, the new facility has been redesigned for ease of use and better efficiency, while creating better ventilation for the horses. Natural light, better airflow, and an open, cheery feeling was obtained by adding Dutch doors to the outside walls of the stalls. Client circulation has been greatly improved with a reception area, and managers and admin staff will have privacy with new offices. The art room and visitor's lounge has been updated with new cabinetry for better storage and new furniture. The groom's quarters and General Manager's quarters are now updated and remodeled, bringing the living standards to a desirable level.

"The stalls, stall mattress setup, feed doors, and waterers are wonderful and make daily tasks very easy... and the facility is so much more beautiful than it used to be, and all visitors have been appropriately impressed and complimentary," said April Neumann, current Barn Manager.

Equestrian Professionals, Inc. took over the management of the Bergen Equestrian Center in June of 2008 and prepared the facility for the renovation. The facility was successfully closed, packed up, and all lesson horses were relocated to another farm during the year-plus renovation. Equestrian Professionals, Inc continued to look after and care for the horses during the renovation, assisted in problem-solving and construction oversight, and brought all of the lesson horses back prior to the end of the management contract, which ended successfully in June of 2010. All of the unpacking and organizing was also completed. The horses and staff love their new facility – it is beautiful and complete, awaiting a new manager to reopen the facility to the public.

Nearly two million people own the 9.2 million horses in the United States, with another two million people involved as equestrian volunteers, or engaged in the equestrian lifestyle through family affiliation, according to the American Horse Council Foundation (AHCF).
