Equestrian Services Grows to Meet the Needs of Clients

New faces, new services and a new home; things have been very exciting at Equestrian Services, LLC, recently!

We are proud to announce the arrival of two new staff members who bring with them the ability to help Equestrian Services provide an even more superior client experience. In addition to the design, planning, programming and operations management services already available, Equestrian Services is now able to provide clients with individualized geo-demographic analyses, sales team support and education and in-house equine land planning and community development.

As the Director of Marketing Services, new team member Jan Wood is able to provide market research, data analysis, and marketing strategy to create focused buyer and customer profiles that allow us to determine exactly what equestrian amenities, services and programs are the highest and best use for a project to optimize sales and increase return on investment for our clients.

A 22-year marketing veteran, Ms. Wood specializes in the area of real estate and urban development. She has overseen real estate development marketing, branding, and public relations from the client side and as an independent consultant.

Prior to joining Equestrian Services, Ms. Wood served as Director of Public Relations for O’Conor, Piper and Flynn Realtors. She went on to become Vice President of Marketing for Signature Development and Management, an East Coast developer and manager of high-end multi-family and mixed use developments from Baltimore through New York and then became a founding partner of Cyphers/Wood, Inc., a marketing, advertising and public relations firm specializing in residential and commercial real estate and urban development.

Our new equine land planner Allison Mouch has experience in park planning and greenways design, community development, design-build and Smart Growth principles. Ms. Mouch graduated from Miami University (OH) with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, and will continue her graduate work in the fall of 2006, studying urban and environmental planning at the University of Virginia.

A longtime equestrian, Ms. Mouch has trained and competed in several disciplines, including dressage, hunter jumper, pleasure driving and cross-country. She has experience as an intermediate level riding instructor, as well as barn manager, trainer and groom. Last summer she spent five months in Jackson, WY as a wrangler/trail guide for Grand Teton National Park.

In order to support our continuing growth and business expansion, we are pleased to inform you that our main office will be moving to Charlottesville, Virginia, on June 1, 2006. We will also now have a Maryland office in Silver Spring, Maryland, which will serve as the headquarters for Equestrian Management, LLC.

World's First Branded Equestrian Community Announced

By Sarah L. Mesa for Equestrian Services, LLC

While some of the world’s top eventing riders competed for honors at the Kentucky Rolex Three Day Event, Equestrian Services, LLC, and David and Karen O’Connor unveiled their own accomplishment - the world’s first branded equestrian community.

O’Connor Signature at The Oaks will open in Lake City, Florida next spring and will be set amidst what David O’Connor called “a beautiful piece of land” in north central Florida. On hand to make the announcement were the O’Connors, Equestrian Services Principals Michael and Jennifer Donovan, and Bradley Dicks, whose Subrandy Limited Partnership is developing O’Connor Signature at the Oaks.

Located in northern Florida, in the triangle between Ocala, Jacksonville and Tallahassee, O'Connor Signature at The Oaks will feature 1,222 rolling acres filled with mature oak trees, 240 one to five-acre lots and more than 15 miles of looped riding trails. The O’Connor-approved equestrian facility will include a 24 plus stall barn, competition-quality riding arenas, a round pen and a cross country course designed by Olympic gold medal winner David O’Connor.

Modeled after successful branded golf amenities by legends such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Fazio, the O'Connor Signature brand will designate a premier facility that meets the O'Connor Signature standard in terms of planning, design, programming, beauty, quality of construction, and certified professional training, instruction, and management.

In addition to making this exciting announcement, Karen O’Connor was also a competitor at Rolex, where she finished an impressive twelfth place aboard Upstage. The entire Equestrian Services team enjoyed cheering Karen on during all three phases of the competition, including a challenging cross country course where Karen and Upstage proved to be true professionals.
